Is Eastport Worth Visiting Right Now?
If you’ve been wondering whether Eastport is worth visiting, the honest answer is yes. Just go with the right expectations.
Eastport is still under development, and it doesn’t feel like a finished town square. Even so, it already works well as a place to explore, walk around, and spend time. Afternoon and early evening visits work especially well.
One of the biggest draws right now is Central Lake. The Nadine Trail — the walking path that loops the lake — offers an easy, scenic walk and a great way to get your steps in.
As you walk the trail, you can see how quickly Eastport is taking shape. Nearby homesites already show strong demand. One recently sold for $599K.
What’s Open in Eastport Today
For drinks, the bar inside Hotel Eastport feels relaxed and welcoming. Doors open directly onto the Central Lake walkway, making it an easy stop before or after a stroll.
You can find more details about the area and accommodations on the official Hotel Eastport website.
For upscale dining, Prime and Ember serves as Eastport’s high-end restaurant anchor. The atmosphere feels polished without being overly formal.
The Prime and Ember rooftop bar offers a different experience. It focuses on drinks, views, and sunsets overlooking Central Lake.
Eastport also includes more casual options. Yamas offers outdoor seating along the water that works especially well on nice evenings. Port Side Coffee provides a convenient stop inside the sales center building. Sundaze adds an easy ice cream option along the lake walkway.
Entertainment continues to build. During our visit, a live band played light, dance-friendly music at Sunset Island. The music added energy without making the area feel crowded.
Nearby, Olympia Recreation stands out for its sheer size. It may be the largest recreation complex in all of The Villages. The scale alone gives a clear sense of where Eastport is heading.
Eastport is still evolving, but it already rewards a visit. If you enjoy walking by the water, listening to live music, and mixing casual exploring with dining and drinks, it’s worth going now.
