Looking for hibachi dinner and fresh sushi a quick hop from Spanish Springs? Sakura Japanese Restaurant sits in La Plaza Grande South and is fully golf-cart accessible, making it an easy pre- or post-square stop for date night or a casual group meal. Expect lively teppanyaki tables, a separate sushi bar, and friendly, quick service.
What We Ordered at Sakura Japanese Restaurant
We started with Steamed Dumplings (Gyoza) and Shrimp Tempura — both fresh, hot, and well-seasoned without being greasy. The tempura came out crisp and golden, and the gyoza had a tender wrapper with flavorful filling.
From the sushi bar, we tried the California Roll and the Jimmy Smith Roll — both beautifully plated and fresh. The Jimmy Smith Roll in particular stood out with its mix of textures and slightly spicy finish. We also sampled a few other rolls, each consistent and nicely presented.
Sakura Japanese Restaurant Vibe & Seating
Sakura offers two experiences in one: the showy hibachi grills where chefs cook at your table, and quieter booth or sushi-bar seating. If you’re bringing a crowd or want dinner-and-a-show, reserve a hibachi table. For a quicker bite, the sushi side moves fast and still has a relaxed atmosphere.
