Last updated: December 2025 — includes recent visit to Piesano’s

The best Italian restaurants in The Villages range from casual neighborhood favorites to sit-down spots locals return to again and again, and in that context, Piesano’s continues to be one of the most popular options.

What We Ordered

During our recent visit, we had dinner at Piesano’s Italian Restaurant in The Villages and, to start, ordered several of their most popular menu items to see how everything compared this time.

Piesano’s eggplant parmigiana with a large portion served at an Italian restaurant in The Villages

First, the eggplant parmigiana easily lived up to its reputation. In fact, the portion is enormous and very shareable, served with a generous side of spaghetti and marinara. Because of this, it remains one of the standout dishes for anyone craving classic Italian comfort food.

Garlic rolls at Piesano’s Italian Restaurant in The Villages

Next, the garlic rolls were excellent, as expected. As usual, they arrived warm and generously coated, and not surprisingly, they remain one of the most popular starters at Piesano’s. At the same time, the personal pizza continues to be a strong value at $10 with two toppings.

What Stood Out & What Didn’t

However, one disappointment on this visit was the Italian salad. Compared to past visits, it was noticeably smaller and consisted mostly of lettuce with very little meat. As a result, it felt less satisfying than before.

Overall, service was generally fine. That said, we did feel a bit overlooked toward the end of the meal after noticing fresh grated cheese being offered at nearby tables while ours was not. In addition, we were seated outside, where a pigeon scavenging near the tables was also a distraction — something some diners may find unpleasant.

Overall Takeaway

Overall: Piesano’s continues to offer generous portions and good value on many dishes, especially pasta and pizza. However, this visit was a little less consistent than past experiences. Still, it remains a popular Italian restaurant option in The Villages and a spot many locals return to regularly.
