There’s something to be said for a dependable post-golf lunch spot, and after revisiting Evans Prairie Country Club this week, we were reminded why so many golfers end up there after a round.
We grabbed a table on the patio after golf and settled in for drinks and lunch. The atmosphere was relaxed, the weather cooperated, and the service helped make the experience easygoing from the start. Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving without ever making us feel rushed.
What to Expect
- Atmosphere: Relaxed country club patio with a steady post-golf crowd
- Pace: Casual and unhurried, especially during lunch service
- Typical Crowd: Golfers finishing a round along with local residents meeting for lunch
- Good to Know: The daily specials, especially Friday fish and chips, draw plenty of regulars
A Reliable Lunch Stop at Evans Prairie Country Club
As for the food, everything landed pretty much where you’d want it to for a casual lunch after golf.
The fish and chips arrived hot and crispy with generous portions, and the grouper bites disappeared quickly from the table. The gyro basket made for an easy patio lunch, and the shrimp tacos were fresh and flavorful without trying too hard to feel overly polished. The wings also had plenty of flavor and just enough heat to keep things interesting.
Daily Specials Keep Regulars Coming Back
One thing Evans Prairie does particularly well is offering a menu that feels approachable after a long round of golf. Prices remain fairly reasonable by Villages country club standards, and the rotating daily specials give regulars a reason to stop in during the week. The Friday fish special especially seemed popular while we were there.
Current menus and weekly specials are also listed on the official Evans Prairie Country Club page.
Did the meal completely blow us away? Not really. But not every restaurant visit needs to feel like a special occasion. Sometimes you just want a comfortable place to sit outside, enjoy a drink, have a satisfying meal, and unwind after golf. Evans Prairie delivered exactly that.
And judging by the lack of leftovers on the table, everyone seemed pretty happy with what they ordered.
For golfers in the southern end of The Villages, Evans Prairie continues to feel like a dependable and enjoyable stop after a round.
