Whatever Happened to Peach Valley Café at Eastport?

A few days ago, I received an email from OnlyVillages reader Michael asking about Peach Valley Café, the breakfast and lunch restaurant announced for Eastport last year.

He wrote:

“Last Fall, TV announced Peach Valley Cafe was coming to Eastport. Since then, there has been no news. Do you have any idea about an opening date? It would be nice to have a local breakfast place.”

Good question, Michael. With everything happening at Eastport lately, I had almost forgotten about Peach Valley myself.

So I did a little checking.

Peach Valley Café Is Still Coming to Eastport

The good news is that the restaurant appears to be moving along.

Peach Valley Café is going into the building at 7099 Eastport Drive, at the corner of Eastport Drive and Dewey Drive.

According to an October 1 report in Villages-News, the exterior signs are now up, construction is continuing inside, and there’s even a hiring sign in the window.

Those are encouraging signs, although I haven’t been over to see the progress myself.

What I couldn’t find was an actual opening date.

As of October 15, The Villages still lists Peach Valley Café as coming soon. No specific date has been announced that I could verify.

What Can We Expect?

If you’ve never eaten at a Peach Valley Café, it’s a Florida restaurant chain specializing in breakfast, brunch and lunch.

The menu has the usual breakfast favorites, including eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles and eggs Benedict. They also serve sandwiches and salads for lunch.

One item that caught my attention was their signature apple fritters, served with cinnamon sugar. They sound pretty good.

Peach Valley already has several locations around Central Florida, so this isn’t a new restaurant concept. There’s one in Mount Dora for anyone who wants to try it before the Eastport location opens.

I haven’t eaten at Peach Valley yet, so I can’t tell you whether the food is worth a visit. That’s something I’ll have to find out once they open.

Another Breakfast Option Would Be Nice

Eastport has been getting quite a few new restaurants lately. Oak & Stone opened on October 6, and there are several other places still in development.

But most of the attention has been on lunch and dinner.

Lucky Goat Coffee is already open, but Peach Valley would give residents another option for a sit-down breakfast or brunch.

Personally, I think that would be a nice addition. After an early round of golf, sometimes a good breakfast sounds better than waiting around for lunch.

For now, though, we’re still waiting.

Michael, thanks for the email. It’s a good reminder that while there’s plenty of attention on the restaurants opening around The Villages, there are also quite a few that were announced months ago and haven’t opened yet.

I’ll keep an eye on Peach Valley and update this post when there’s something more definite to report.

In the meantime, you can see what’s already open and what’s still coming in our Eastport Restaurant Guide.

Have you eaten at another Peach Valley Café location? I’d be interested to hear what you thought, particularly whether it’s worth looking forward to.
