It has been another active week for anyone tracking what’s opening in The Villages, with a new upscale steakhouse announced, an opening date set for a new grocery location, and several businesses moving closer to welcoming customers.

Here are a few major updates regarding what’s opening in The Villages neighborhoods that you will want to keep on your radar this week.

🥩 Luxe Steakhouse leads what’s opening in The Villages

A familiar name in the local dining scene is preparing to launch a brand-new concept.

Jack Suleiman, the restaurateur behind RedSauce at Lake Sumter Landing as well as Glenview and Mallory Hill Country Clubs, has announced plans for Luxe Steakhouse & Cellar at the Woodlands Championship Golf Course.

The restaurant is expected to feature prime steaks and an extensive wine selection. As of now, an official opening date has not been announced, but the project is already generating plenty of excitement.

We’ll continue following the project closely as additional details become available.

🛒 New ALDI Location Opening June 11

The wait is almost over for shoppers on the historic side. The newest ALDI store will officially open on Thursday, June 11, at La Plaza Grande near Spanish Springs.

  • Ribbon Cutting: Scheduled for 8:45 a.m., with the store opening doors immediately afterward.
  • Location Footprint: While this marks the second official location situated directly inside the community boundaries, it serves as the fourth regional store for local shoppers alongside the neighboring Lady Lake, Oxford, and Wildwood locations.
  • The Space: The store occupies a portion of the former Winn-Dixie building, which many longtime residents will remember as one of the area’s original grocery storefronts.
  • Future Expansion: More than 23,000 square feet of the building remains completely available for a future tenant that has not yet been announced.

🍷 Barons Creek Vineyards Now Open in Spanish Springs

Wine lovers have a brand-new destination to check out. Barons Creek Vineyards has officially opened its doors at 1171 Main Street in Spanish Springs.

The tasting room offers wine tastings, premium wines by the glass, and custom charcuterie boards in a relaxed atmosphere inspired heavily by Texas Hill Country wine culture.

The new location adds a highly anticipated indoor layout for residents spending an afternoon around the town square or looking for a spot before the live music kicks off.

🏪 Jeff’s Bagel Run Opens in Southern Trace Plaza

Bagel fans have another fresh breakfast option to add to the rotation. Jeff’s Bagel Run is now officially open and operating in Southern Trace Plaza.

The rapidly expanding Central Florida-based company serves freshly baked bagels, a massive variety of specialty cream cheeses, breakfast sandwiches, and hot coffee.

The shop has already drawn consistent morning crowds from local residents looking for an authentic, fresh bagel shop experience close to home.

🏗️ A Closer Look at What’s Opening in Eastport

Major structural development continues to move fast over in Eastport. The brand new Villages Logo Store recently opened its doors to the public at 7004 Central Lake Drive.

The retail location offers a convenient new option to shop for localized apparel, neighborhood gifts, and signature accessories. This milestone lines up cleanly with our recent breakdown of the new growth timelines taking shape south of 44.

Several neighboring commercial properties in the square are actively pushing through interior build-outs, and we will keep tracking those individual openings as timelines lock in.

🌪️ Hurricane Season Officially Begins

June 1 marks the official start of hurricane season across the state of Florida.

While our inland location means the community typically experiences significantly fewer severe structural impacts than coastal towns, emergency officials highly encourage residents to take this week to review family emergency plans, test safety supplies, and organize important personal documents.

Taking small steps to prepare early is always much easier than waiting out long lines when a major tropical system is actively approaching the peninsula.

🍦 Twistee Treat Continues to Take Shape

The signature cone-shaped Twistee Treat location on 466A continues to make rapid visible progress, with the vast majority of the exterior finish work now appearing structurally complete.

An official grand opening date hasn’t been confirmed by corporate yet. Based on active on-site utility crews, the project has officially entered its final phases, though local permitting timelines can always shift.

We’ll continue tracking new restaurants, local businesses, construction projects, and community developments across town. If you’ve spotted something new around your neighborhood, drop a comment below or send us a tip!
