This Yamas Eastport review comes from a Saturday night dinner visit where the biggest surprise was how quiet the restaurant felt. Not just calm quiet — surprisingly quiet for a weekend dinner crowd.
The space itself is beautiful inside. Lots of bright blue colors, open seating, and a clean modern look that fits Eastport well.
But even with the nice setup, the restaurant felt oddly empty for a Saturday night. It almost gave the place a slower lunch-time feel instead of a busy dinner crowd.
What to Expect
- Atmosphere: Bright, modern, and very quiet during our visit
- Pace: Slow and relaxed dinner service
- Typical Crowd: Mostly small groups and local residents
- Good to Know: The experience feels much more casual than the menu prices might suggest
The food at Yamas Eastport was mostly solid
The food itself was pretty good overall.
The wagyu burger ended up being one of the favorites at the table, especially for someone who was not really in the mood for Greek food.
The falafel pita also looked great when it came out, and the Greek salad was fresh and simple in a good way.
The shrimp kale Caesar was probably the nicest-looking dish we ordered.
The cocktail menu and drinks also felt a little more polished than the overall dining experience.
Some small details felt unfinished
A few little things during dinner gave the feeling that the restaurant is still working out some details.
The strangest moment was the bread served with the kale salad. It was so hard that nobody at the table could really bite into it.
When we mentioned it to the server, the only replacement option was pita bread instead. Later, we noticed a $2 charge on the bill for the pita.
Again, it was not really about the two dollars. It just felt odd after the original bread was basically impossible to eat.
There was also some confusion with the menu pricing. The falafel pita section listed fries or a half salad as an $8 add-on, but our waitress explained that the sides were actually already included now and that the printed menu simply had not been updated yet.
None of these things were major problems on their own. Together though, they added to the overall feeling that parts of the restaurant still feel a little unfinished or inconsistent.
Why this Yamas Eastport review feels mixed
One thing we kept coming back to during dinner was how casual the overall experience felt compared to the pricing.
The room is attractive, but the service style, atmosphere, and little details felt closer to a daytime café or lunch spot than a higher-end dinner restaurant.
That does not mean people will not enjoy it. Some diners may actually prefer the relaxed feel. But if you are expecting a lively upscale Saturday dinner experience, it may feel different than expected.
The outdoor patio area did look like it could become a really nice spot during busier evenings or cooler weather.
Right now, Yamas feels like a restaurant still settling in a bit — good food in spots, a nice-looking space, but an experience that does not fully match the pricing yet.
