Beautyberry Executive Golf Course Review The Villages FL
We played Beautyberry Executive Golf Course this past Sunday. As of April 2026, it’s one of the newer executive layouts in the southern portion of The Villages, and it has a slightly different feel than many of the older courses.
The layout leans closer to a scaled-down championship-style layout than a typical short executive course — particularly in how the holes are spaced and how the greens are shaped. Compared to Bellaire Executive Golf Course, the overall feel here is more open and less residential.
What to Expect
- Atmosphere: Open layout with no surrounding homes (yet)
- Pace: Typical executive course flow, varies by tee time spacing
- Typical Crowd: Mix of regular players and those exploring newer courses
- Good to Know: Tee boxes can be firm, and navigation to the course has recently changed
Getting there has changed slightly
One practical note — access is more direct than some GPS routes still suggest.
GPS may still route you toward Corbin Trail and through the Eastport parking area. However, with the Marsh Bend Trail tunnel under Bexley Trail now open, the golf cart route is more straightforward.
If you haven’t been through this area recently, it’s worth knowing. It cuts down on extra turns and makes the approach easier.
Beautyberry Executive Golf Course layout and difficulty
The layout feels more open than many executive courses, with no surrounding homes in place yet. There’s generally room off the tee, but hole length and positioning still require some thought, especially from the back tees.
We played from the black tees, and a few holes stretch enough that club selection becomes more relevant than on shorter executive layouts.
The Villages categorizes executive courses on a Level 1 to Level 4 scale (easiest to most difficult). Beautyberry is officially rated as a Level 4 course. You can view course listings and ratings on the official Villages golf site.
The greens
The greens were firm and on the faster side, with noticeable undulation.
Approach shots had a harder time holding than expected. Several well-struck shots released more than anticipated after landing.
We also heard similar feedback from other players — that it can be difficult to “stick” the greens here — which aligned with what we saw during this round.
Tee box conditions
One consistent observation across the round was how firm the tee boxes were.
In our group, one player ended up using a hammer and nail just to get a tee into the ground.
That’s not typical, but it matched the overall firmness we saw across multiple holes.
What’s happening around the course
The surrounding area is still in active development. Large sections nearby are being cleared and prepared for future homes.
Right now, there are relatively few visual landmarks or established road markers, which can make the area feel less oriented than more built-out parts of The Villages.
At the current pace of development, this likely won’t feel like the outer edge of the community for long. That said, timelines can shift, and buildout is ongoing.
Overall takeaway
As of now, Beautyberry offers a different experience than many executive courses — more open visually, with greens that require a bit more attention than expected.
The official Level 4 designation reflects how it plays, particularly on and around the greens.
For players rotating through executive courses regularly, this one is worth seeing firsthand to understand how it compares.
